One of the big parts of our work at Bible Society Youth is to work in partnership with schools and churches to coordinate mission trips for their students and youth to Indigenous Communities in Far North Queensland, linking in with Wontulp Bi Buya Bible College (which is one of our projects - to find out more click here)...

Over the past four years we have seen this part of our work grow enormously, seeing us work with:

Covenant Christian School / Arden Anglican School / Danebank Anglican Girls School / Inaburra School / St Peters Anglican College - Broulee / Christ Church Anglican Church, St Ives

Our trips are about a couple of key things..

• Sharing the hope we have in Jesus.....
• Children's ministry...
• Working with and learning from our Indigenous brothers and sisters..
• Experiencing different cultures (even within our own country) and how church/Christianity fits into that..
• Transforming lives - those that we minstry and share with as well as members of our teams..

But to really understand what it is about, its best to hear from those who we take on mission...

• I had an awesome time and I got an experience that won’t happen to many other people
• Don’t waste money, give, don’t be a won’t share princess, be content
• Change of heart – heart has become real, so time to love, care, give….
• About God – his presence everywhere and the way he can move us emotionally, the control he has over every situation and that he is dependable
• I was really encouraged by cultural differences in faith, got to know kids and leaders really well built meaningful relationships and caught a glimpse of mission in other cultures.
• Just a completely renewed faith by these people who love him even though their lives are tough, And a real belief that he can do what most humans consider impossible.
• To be content with less
• I want to take God’s Word to all people and to support those who suffer.
• I think I was jokingly racist before… Now I love them.
• I feel like my eyes have been opened to new things.
• Amazed at how much of a difference you can make in peoples lives in 1 week.
